Service, alignment or parking
A 4-post hoist lifts the vehicle on its wheels, so there are no arms to position. Drivers roll on and off quickly, which suits servicing, inspections and wheel alignment.
For general servicing, the Ultimate UL-4500E lifts 4.5 tonnes and the UL-6500E lifts 6.5 tonnes for trucks, delivery vans and long-wheelbase fleet vehicles. Both come with two jacking beams, so you can lift the wheels off the runways for brake and suspension work.
For alignment bays, the Molnar SM440-A (4 tonnes), SM450-A (5 tonnes) and SM460-A (6 tonnes) are built as wheel alignment hoists. The SM440-A, for example, has turntable pockets and rear slip plates. The Molnar S models are the service versions.
To store two cars in one garage bay, the Ultimate 3.5T parking hoist lifts one car so a second can park underneath, with 1,800 mm of clearance under the platform. It works at home or in a workshop.
Floor space and power
Check the length of your bay before you choose. The UL-4500E has a 4,610 mm platform and is 5,650 mm long with ramps. The UL-6500E is 6,971 mm long with ramps, and the Carleo SL-640 is 6,000 mm overall.
Ultimate 4-post hoists run on 240V single phase or 415V three phase. Molnar models use a 415V three phase power unit, and most can be ordered for single phase.
Prices, installation and inspections
The Ultimate 3.5T parking hoist is $4,850 + GST, the UL-4500E is $8,750 + GST, the UL-6500E is $9,590 + GST and the Carleo SL-640 is $10,856 + GST. Molnar and Tecalemit models are priced on request.
We deliver and install the hoist, then look after the yearly AS 2550.9 inspection and any repairs, so the same local team looks after it for its whole working life.
Common Questions
What is the difference between a service hoist and an alignment hoist?
An alignment hoist keeps the runways level and has places for turntables and slip plates, so the aligner can measure accurately. A service hoist is the simpler version for general work. In the Molnar range, A models are for alignment and S models are for service.
Can I do wheel-free work on a 4-post hoist?
Yes, with a jacking beam. The UL-4500E comes with two 2-tonne jacking beams and the UL-6500E with two 3-tonne beams. For Molnar hoists there are the Molnar Micro 2000 and Micro 3000 air jacking beams.
Can I use a 4-post parking hoist at home?
Yes. The Ultimate 3.5T parking hoist is made for storing two vehicles in one bay, at home or in a workshop. There is 1,800 mm of clearance under the platform.
How much space does a 4-post hoist need?
It depends on the model. The UL-4500E is 5,650 mm long with ramps and 3,643 mm wide with the power unit. Send us your bay measurements and we will check the fit.
Does a 4-post hoist need a yearly inspection?
Yes. Like any vehicle hoist, a 4-post hoist needs a documented AS 2550.9 inspection at least every 12 months. We do these across Perth and regional WA.
